Welcome to The Surgery, Shankill Road

Important message about Coronavirus (Covid-19)

We have put measures in place in an effort to safeguard you, our patients  and our staff,  given the current coronavirus infection outbreak.

Access to the surgery is from the front of the building only. Only 1 person may be in the front hall at any time. If you have an appointment, you should report to reception via the service hatch in the front hall and wait  to speak to a receptionist, before being granted access to the main building. Once your appt has taken place, you will exit the building via the rear car park.  This one-way system for appts,  is to avoid congestion in the front hall.

There will be no routine pre-booked GP appointments whilst this public health emergency is ongoing.  You may telephone the surgery before 10:00 Mon - Fri,  if you feel you need to be seen urgently by a GP.   Please do not book appointments using the online system. Any such bookings will be cancelled.

Baby clinic is strictly by pre-booked appt. However if your child is due an immunisation, or you receive an immunisation appt card,  you should phone in & speak to one of our receptionists, who will arrange an appointment for this.

We would be grateful if you would continue to allow 48 hours before collecting repeat prescriptions.

The surgery will be closed on the last Thursday afternoon of each month for training purposes.

The nurse is available Tues – Thurs: 12:00 – 12:45 for results.

The NHS has set up a website to enable people to request an isolation note if needed, to be used if you are asked to self-isolate. To request an isolation note, go to https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-note & follow the prompts to complete the form, which will then be e-mailed to you.

In line with current  Public Health guidelines:

If you are experiencing cough, fever, shortness of breath, or a change in,  or loss of,  your sense of taste or smell,   please self-isolate;  stay in your home. You should avoid contact with other people and telephone the surgery,  if you need to  speak to a GP.   Do not attend the practice without being invited to do so by one of our GPs.

Everyone over 5 years of age in NI with symptoms of COVID-19 is now eligible for testing.  Testing is offered through the National Testing Programme & symptomatic members of the public can book their own test via: https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test.  Alternatively, symptomatic members of the public can book a test by calling the Freephone number:  119.
